PARKS NOTICES
Flooding and Washouts in Saanich parks:
During storm events, parks can function as temporary rainwater storage areas, helping to reduce impacts to critical infrastructure and buildings. Over the past few weeks, the region has experienced very heavy rainfall. As a result, some park trails have been flooded or washed out, and several parking lots have developed areas of standing water. Saanich’s Parks teams are actively monitoring these conditions and have temporarily closed affected areas until water levels recede or necessary repairs can be completed. Due to the two atmospheric river events, multiple park locations have been impacted during this time.

Saanich Parks: where everyone belongs
- Please enjoy our parks and trails while providing personal space to other park guests and respecting peoples' personal choices.
- Host an event outdoors in a park: obtain a valid permit for use of any sports field or priority use of picnic tables.
- If you pack it in, pack it out! Anything you bring to a park should go home with you. Please never leave trash, food containers, animal waste or other items.
- Wanting to bring a group of five or more people to volunteer in a Saanich Park? New this year is our Saanich Parks Stewardship Group Activity Request Form.
