2026 Saanich Election

Election day: Saturday, October 17

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, eligible voters will
cast their ballots to elect:

  • One (1) Mayor
  • Eight (8) Councillors
  • 4 CRD Directors
  • Two (2) School District 63 Trustees
  • Two (2) School District 61 Trustees
  • One (1) Public Opinion Question (non-binding)

Candidates running for Mayor and Council are also eligible to be elected to the Capital Regional District (CRD) Board.   Based on past practice, the five members of Council to be appointed to the CRD Board would be the Mayor and the four Councillor candidates receiving the highest number of votes in the municipal election.

If you're not on the Voters List, no problem—you can register when you vote at any Advance Voting Opportunity or on General Voting Day.  Please ensure you have the appropriate identification.

 

Accessible Voting Options

We're committed to making voting accessible to all by providing:

  1. Mail Ballots - You can request a mail ballot so that you can vote in your own home at your convenience.
  2. Curbside Voting - When you attend to vote either at Advance Voting or on General Voting Day, notify an Election Official who will bring the ballot to your vehicle.
  3. Personal Assistance - Assistance can be requested from an Election Official, or you may be accompanied by another person to assist you with voting.
