All qualified voters in the District of Saanich have the option to vote by mail ballot in the 2026 General Local Government and School Board Elections.
Requesting a Mail Ballot
Applications for mail ballots will open September 14, 2026. Please check back here for the link.
- An online application must be completed to obtain a mail ballot.
- You may request that the package be mailed to you or picked up at Legislative Services.
- Mail ballot packages will be mailed out or available for pick-up on or about October 1, 2026.
- Mail ballot applications will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Please consider the destination and that mail service excludes delivery on weekends and statutory holidays. To be counted, your ballot must be recieved by the Chief Election Officer at the Saanich Municipal Hall by 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026. It is the responsibility of the elector to ensure that this deadline is met.
**Please note that once you have registered to vote by mail ballot you cannot vote at the regular or advance polls.
