To run in the election, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older on general election day
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Have lived in BC for at least 6 months before the day you file your nomination papers
- Not be disqualified by law from being nominated, elected, or holding office

Candidates Elector Organizations
Saanich’s next municipal election is on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Voters will elect:
- 1 mayor and 8 councillors for Saanich Municipal Council
- 4 CRD Directors
- 2 School Trustees for SD61 and SD63 (depending on where you live)
