Our team is responsible for overseeing the construction, alteration, repair or demolition of buildings in compliance with the BC Building Code. Ensuring the health, safety, fire and structural integrity of buildings and structures is our main priority.

Our Building and Plumbing Officials confirm that the work carried out meets the requirements of the:

• BC Building Code
• Building & Plumbing Bylaw

And all other relevant bylaws and regulations!

Prior to applying for a permit, please be advised that:

• Residential permits are for single family dwellings, garden suites, accessory buildings, Part 9 townhouses, or houseplexes (SSMUH).
• Commercial, Industrial and Multi-Family permits are for apartments, Part 3 townhouses, multi-use, or non-residential occupancies such as retail. 
• To confirm which permit applies, please contact Inspections.
