PARKS NOTICES:

  • Temporary Closures -  Rutledge and Beckwith Park Splash Pads 
    •  July 25, 2024 - Staff are working hard to resolve system performance issues. The temporary closure of the splash pads began Saturday, July 20 and both currently remain closed. We know how much everyone enjoys the splash pads and aplogize for any inconvenience. Check back for further updates.
    • Residents with park permits taken out at either of these sites can call us at 250-475-5522 to discuss options.
    • The playgrounds, sport courts, fields and other amenities remain open in these parks for your enjoyment.
    • As an alternative, we have lots of great beaches in Saanich, here's a link to some of our most popular, Beaches and Beach Access
  • Rutledge washroom/changerooms opening soon 
    • We're working hard to finalize some technical details. In the meantime, we've dropped off portable toilets for your convenience. 
  • McMinn Park bike skills course NOW OPEN!
  • Churchill Dr to the top of PKOLS (Mount Douglas Park) remains closed over long weekends. 
  • McMinn Park pickleball courts resurfacing is complete and the courts have re-opened.

  • To respond effectively to the growth of Pickleball, Saanich partnered with other local municipalities to develop the Pickleball Strategy for Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay and Esquimalt. The report has been published; visit the Strategy website for more information.
  • Whitehead Park at Prospect Lake - ramp closed until further notice.
  • Saanich Parks Pulling Together Volunteers recognized in Chek News segment
  • Washrooms are now open year-round at Tyndall Park Clubhouse.

Saanich Parks: where everyone belongs

  • Please enjoy our parks and trails while providing personal space to other park guests and respecting peoples' personal choices. 
  • Host an event outdoors in a park: obtain a valid permit for use of any sports field or priority use of picnic tables. 
  • If you pack it in, pack it out! Anything you bring to a park should go home with you. Please never leave trash, food containers, animal waste or other items.
