Annual Maintenance Shutdown: June 15 to 28
The entire facility, except for the weight room, will be closed June 15 to 28. We will fully reopen on Monday, June 29 at 6am.
Although the weight room will close for a short interruption to the building’s water supply (exact dates to be determined), it will remain open from 8am to 8pm for the remainder of the closure period.
Note: Phones will be answered from 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday for registration and inquiries.

Gordon Head weight room reopens May 5!
After an extended closure for renovations, to replace the roof, we’re set for your sets, racked for your reps, and pumped-up to welcome you back to the weight room at Gordon Head Recreation Centre.
The District appreciates the patience of patrons who have been eagerly waiting to return to this valued community amenity and who have modified their fitness routines, visiting other Saanich recreation centres for much of the last year.
Come and visit the refreshed space including new equipment, flooring, lighting, equipment additions, and other HVAC, safety and seismic upgrades.

- Two lifts for main pool entry (25 m pool):
- S.R. Smith Splash! – Aquatic Lift with integrated arm rests on seat (max weight 300 lbs)

- Ramp available for Leisure Pool and River Pool entry
Weight Room:
- Wheelchair accessible weight room and equipment
- Matrix Magnum chest press / row: direct roll-in wheelchair design, chest pad rotates to switch between exercises
- Two True functional trainers: rotating pulleys and columns and multiple accessories for a variety of upper body exercises. Please note, if anchored at the top, assistance may be required to lower for ease of accessibility
- Technogym Kinesis: offers a variety of dynamic push/pull uppr body exercises
- Technogym Excite Top: upper body ergometer for a cardio workout
- Matrix smith machine: plate loaded
