Playfair Park [PDF - 167 KB] is one of our best kept secrets. This park boasts a large grove of mature rhododendrons and azaleas with a Garry Oak meadow and a 300-foot perennial border. These beautiful displays are most impressive in the spring when the rhododendrons and azaleas start to bloom.

Experience the stunning show of the rhododendron and azalea garden in May. Some of these plants are more than 50 years old.
Garry Oak Meadow
Visit the Garry oak meadow in spring. You’ll see a spectacular display of camas, shooting stars and other native plants. This meadow is one of the many restoration sites of the Garry Oak Restoration Project and is stewarded by dedicated volunteers.
