Welcome UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration!

The United Nations declared the Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) and calls upon everyone - from governments to multinational companies, to school children - to get involved in reviving damaged ecosystems.  Saanich has committed to participating in this exciting initiative.

In support of this global initiative, Mayor Fred Haynes, signed a proclamation that states 2021 to 2030 as the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration in Saanich. 

Please note:  we are very excited about the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and gathering for events. This cannot happen during current COVID-19 public health protocols, but we do continue to support the Pulling Together and Park Ambassador Volunteers who are active stewards in Saanich Parks. Please check back for future volunteer opportunities and events in parks.
