Cedar Hill Library Public Art Project (Coming Soon)
The District of Saanich is redeveloping the Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) Branch at 3950 Cedar Hill Road as part of the Cedar Hill Road Library and Affordable Housing Project. The new library will be the region’s second-largest branch and completion is anticipated for 2029.
Public artwork will be commissioned for the Library component of the project through Saanich’s Civic Public Art Program (see the Comprehensive Arts Policy). The artist selected for the public art project will be chosen through a public jury (selection panel) to ensure a professional and fair process and that the artwork selected meets established criteria and standards.
Call for Public Art Project Jury Members
The District is seeking artists or art/cultural professionals to participate on the Public Art Project Jury for the new Cedar Hill Library Project. Following an orientation and input process, the Project Jury will review and evaluate artist applications and project proposals and make recommendations on the selection of artwork. Artist jury members will be offered an honorarium for their contribution.

Fire Station #2 Redevelopment
Public Art Project
The District of Saanich is undertaking the redevelopment of Fire Station #2 in Royal Oak. This major capital project replaces the existing building on an enlarged site, expanding the size and capacity of the station within a new landmark public safety facility. Completion is expected in Fall 2026.
