The District of Saanich is redeveloping the Greater Victoria
Public Library (GVPL) Branch at 3950 Cedar Hill Road as part
of the Cedar Hill Road Library and Affordable Housing Project.
The new library will be the region’s second-largest branch
and completion is anticipated for 2029/2030.
Public artwork will be commissioned for the Library component of the project through Saanich’s Civic Public Art Program
(see the Comprehensive Arts Policy).
The artist selected for the public art project will be chosen by a public art selection panel to ensure a professional and fair process and that the artwork selected meets established criteria and standards.
Call for Public Art Project Selection Panel Members
The District is seeking artists or art/cultural professionals to participate on a Public Art Selection Panel (a.k.a. Project Jury) for the new Cedar Hill Library Project. Following an orientation, the Selection Panel will evaluate artist applications and proposals and make recommendations on the selection of artwork. Artist and art/culture professional panel members will be offered an honorarium for their contribution.
