Mandatory Training Dates:
June 5, from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
July 4 and 5, from 10:00am to 3:00pm

Placement Locations: Copley Park West, Marigold Park, Meadow Park, Reynolds Park, Horner Park, Maynard Park, Saanich Commonwealth Place and Gordon Head Recreation Centre.

Youth Professional Email Required: No - **While this is not a requirement, our WYLD program is a great opportunity to encourage youth to set up a professional e mail address for all future leadership and work communication. **

Youth Independent Communication Required: No – **While this is not a requirement, our WYLD program is a great opportunity to encourage youth to start to independently communicate with our staff mentors through email and phone. **

Experience Required: While this is an entry level program, priority is given to youth who are actively engaged with extra-curricular activities, school leadership, community leadership, coach in training, referee programs, volunteering, and babysitting.

Step One: Learn To Lead is the first step in our leadership continuum and is an introduction to working with community and kids. Program placements are in an outdoor or centre based summer camp setting. We are flexible with time and duration. We will work with you to develop a two weeklong summer placement schedule that is suitable for you and your family.

Upon a successful interview and enrollment in this program there will be a $65.00 registration fee. This fee includes: 13 hours of training, a certificate of completion, a individual reference letter, a games manual, a junior leader guide and a WYLD placement  t-shirt. A hoodie will be optional for purchase
