Saanich, BC – The public is invited to an informative and entertaining Saanich Talks event hosted by the District of Saanich with speaker Gordon Price. Price will explore ideas for creating local areas with thriving neighbourhood villages, diverse housing options and greater social inclusion.
"This event officially kicks-off Saanich's Local Area Plan updates starting with Cadboro Bay and Cordova Bay and provides an exciting opportunity to begin the conversation on the future of these neighbourhoods,” said Mayor Richard Atwell. "The community-at-large is invited to learn more about the ideas and trends that are shaping cities and neighbourhoods."
Over the next year, Saanich will work with the Cadboro Bay and Cordova Bay communities to develop plans that provide direction on topics such as housing, transportation and mobility, environment and neighbourhood villages. Attendees at this event can learn more about how they can get involved in the Local Area Plan updates and other current Saanich projects.
Originally from Victoria, Saanich Talks speaker Gordon Price is a Fellow with the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Centre for Dialogue, a previous director of the City Program at SFU and a former six-term Vancouver Councillor.
