The display spaces at Saanich Municipal Hall offer a public exhibition area that features a rotating program of artist & artworks throughout the year. The artwork displays contribute to a welcoming and accessible environment that highlights the role of the arts in public life.
Saanich Municipal Hall hosts two gallery walls and a window display space that includes track lighting. All spaces are open to the public during regular business hours and the window gallery space is wheelchair accessible.
Exhibiting at Saanich Municipal Hall
- Applications are open to artists, arts and cultural groups, and community organizations at all stages of development.
- Artists/groups are responsible for the installation and removal of their exhibition.
- Exhibitions typically run for approximately eight – nine weeks.
- Submissions open annually in June and remain open until all exhibition spaces for the following year have been filled.
- There is no exhibition fee, and Saanich does not take commission on artwork sales. These spaces are intended for display purposes only and cannot accommodate events or opening receptions.
Window Gallery – Lockable raised window space, 7’x6’x8’. Ideal for 3D artwork. Display plinths are available.
Mezzanine Wall – L shaped wall space 7’x16’x7’. Standard hanging system with 10 adjustable cables & hooks that hold up to 10lbs.
Upper Wall & Reception Wall – Curved wall space on 2nd floor 20’ long x 7’ high. Standard hanging system with 10 adjustable cables & hooks that hold up to 10lbs.
