Holiday schedule for Greener Garbage, recreation centres and facilities now available

Over the holiday season, certain District facilities and programs adjust their operations to accommodate for statutory holidays. See below for adjusted hours and operation days.

NOTE: all recreation centre hours are available here.

Greener Garbage Collection Schedules

Saanich Municipal Hall & Annex, Engineering, Corporate Services and Saanich Parks offices

  • OPEN: Wednesday, December 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • CLOSED: Thursday, December 25; Friday, December 26; Thursday, January 1.

Yard and Garden Waste Drop-Off

  • OPEN: Monday, December 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • OPEN: Tuesday, December 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • CLOSED: Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; Friday, December 26
  • OPEN: Saturday, December 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • CLOSED: Sunday, December 28
  • OPEN: Monday, December 29 and Tuesday, December 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • CLOSED: Wednesday, December 31; Thursday, January 1
  • OPEN: Friday, January 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Gordon Head Recreation Centre

Cedar Hill Golf - clubhouse

The clubhouse and The Derby Restaurant will be closed Wednesday December 24, 2025, to Friday January 2, 2026. Coffee, snacks, drinks, muffins and sandwiches will be available in the Pro Shop during this period. 

Cedar Hill Recreation Centre
