Saanich Commonwealth Place reopening update

October 4, 2022

Sections of Saanich Commonwealth Place (SCP) will reopen next week following a five-week closure for annual maintenance and the initial construction phase of the biomass mechanical system upgrade project.

On October 11, SCP will reopen to patrons except for aquatic areas. Reopening of aquatic areas for programs and activities will be delayed slightly until October 19 to accommodate further repairs and maintenance. We expect to reopen the competition pool in late October.

Additionally, the entire facility will be closed Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18 due to a planned power outage as part of the biomass project. Patrons registered for programs on October 17 and 18 will be contacted in advance and credited for the cancellations.

We encourage patrons to use their Saanich Access Pass to visit any of Saanich’s other three recreation centres including Gordon Head Recreation Centre for all swimming/aquatic needs during the closures. Visit Saanich.ca/recreation for schedules.

We appreciate your patience while we work to complete these important facility improvements.
