G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre is recruiting for multiple Building Service Worker II – Arena positions. The Building Service Worker II – Arena performs maintenance work in the general operation and service maintenance of ice arenas and other associated buildings and equipment in municipal recreation facilities.  This includes ice making and resurfacing, building equipment maintenance and repair, custodial and cleaning tasks.

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Refrigerator Operator certification (RO); over three months and up to six months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within one year; valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work varying shifts up to 37.5 hours per week including nights, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts subject to change due to operational requirements.
