Resident electors
You are eligible to vote in the District of Saanich municipal election if you meet all of the following qualifications to vote:
- 18 years of age or older on election day
- a Canadian citizen
- a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months prior to registering to vote
- a resident of the District of Saanich (no minimum days required)
- not disqualified by law from voting

Non-resident property electors
If you own property in the District of Saanich but you live elsewhere in BC, you are eligible to vote if you meet all the following qualifications to vote:
- 18 years of age or older on election day
- a Canadian citizen
- a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months prior to registering to vote
- a registered owner of real property in the District of Saanich for at least 30 days prior to registering to vote
- an individual not holding the real property in trust for a corporation or any other trust
- not entitled to register as a resident elector in the District of Saanich
- not registered as a non-resident property elector in relation to any other parcel of real property in the District of Saanich
- if there is more than one individual who is the registered owner, only one individual may register and vote in relation to the real property and the person doing so must have received the written consent of the majority of individuals registered as owners of the real property
- not disqualified by law from voting
Register to vote as a non-resident property elector
Register to vote as a non-resident property elector by completing the application and consent form in advance of voting.
Proof of ownership of the property is required.
Submit your forms to Legislative Services, District of Saanich, 770 Vernon Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8X 2W7, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm before September 16, 2026. Bring one of the following original documents, along with your completed application and consent form (if required):
- Proof of ownership, for example:
- Land Title Office Title Search
- District of Saanich Property Tax Notice
- BC Property Assessment Notice
- Two pieces of ID that provide evidence of your identity and place of residence (at least one of which must include your signature).

You may also register to vote at advance voting opportunities (October 7, 13, and 14, 2026) or on election day (Saturday, October 17, 2026).
