This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the District of Saanich (“District” or “Saanich”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Supply of Biomass, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
The RFP’s objective is to procure quality biomass fuel that meets the following requirements:
a) Suitable for the 780 kW KOB™ biomass fuelled boiler manufactured by Viessmann. The feed system will be a circular sweep arm extraction and screw auger combination system. The fuel storage container will be a below grade concrete bunker with dimensions approximately 9.7m long x 4.2m wide x 4m deep;
b) Consistent quality to avoid unnecessary breakdowns in the machinery and support optimal plant performance; and
c) Minimizes greenhouse gas emissions when transporting the biomass to Saanich Commonwealth Place (“SCP”).
