Invitation to Annual Quotation: For #AQ 09/21 – Snow Clearing and Roadside Grading Program. Scope of Work: This is an invitation to quote for the services of a grader to clear snow as required:
A. Snow Clearing
With 50mm of accumulated snow or expected accumulation on the road network, the grader will be requested to be dispatched to areas in West Saanich (please see attached maps). The grader is to be onsite within 4 hours of the request for service from District of Saanich. This response can be 24/7. The operation of the equipment may need to be 20 hours out of every 24 hours, with 2 operators being utilized.
The grader operator is clear to the snow off the travel lanes down to optimum driving conditions.
The grader operator is not to create hazards for road users or to block driveways, bus stops, Canada Post super mail boxes or fire hydrants. Snow windrows are acceptable.
Saanich will not provide traffic advisory or traffic control services.
The operators are required to inspect all routes before October 15th and identify any Saanich owned assets that may be damaged by the grader or cause damage to the grader and report those concerns to Saanich before October 15th each year.
Saanich will advise of any locations of steel road plates where the grader may be required to provide it`s services.
B. Road Side Grade Edging
This work is typically undertaken between February 1st and March 30th.
It is typically operated as a continuous program for up to 15 days if inclement weather is not encountered.
Saanich provides underground check information to the grader operator and traffic control if required.
Term: The Services will be on an as and when requested from October 15th, 2021 to April 15th, 2022 with an option to renew for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons.
