Saanich initiates housing strategy and task force

Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich is moving forward with the development of its housing strategy and is looking for input from the public as well as participants to join a specialized task force.

“The growing housing affordability challenges and housing crisis has shown the urgent need to address our housing challenges, especially for low and moderate income households who experience differing family and economic circumstances” said Mayor Fred Haynes. “Working towards diverse and affordable housing options for the needs of all our residents is an important building block to supporting our growth and helping us adapt to changes. I am thrilled that we are making progress on this very important work.”

The housing strategy will direct how Saanich will move forward to achieve greater housing supply, affordability and diversity and accommodate a broad range of community housing needs now and into the future.
