Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich invites all families to the Family Arts Festival February 17. Hosted at the Cedar Hill Recreation and Arts Centre, the event is a wonderful way for families to spend special time together this Family Day holiday.

This free family event celebrates imagination and discovery, where the young and the young-at-heart come together and explore creativity, diversity and the arts.

“Saanich has been a proud supporter of Family Day celebrations since the inception of this special day in British Columbia," said Councillor and Chair of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee Karen Harper. “Family Arts Festival is a celebration of arts, culture and creativity and a great way to come together as a family and a community."

Take part in a wide variety of hands-on art, music, literary and creative activities led by the Arts Centre and special guests from Greater Victoria’s creative and cultural communities. This year will capture your imagination with the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Kaleidoscope Theatre, The Royal British Columbia Museum, British Columbia First Tech Challenge, The Makehouse and the Greater Victoria Public Library.

Lively performances by Chinese Dance Victoria, Shan-e-Punjab Dance School, Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club - Lion Dancers, and Lekwungen Traditional Dancers will delight audiences, along with a magic show and Victoria Conservatory of Music youth performers.
