Seedling giveaway at Gorge Canada Day Picnic

Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich will giveaway more than 1,000 native tree seedlings at the Gorge Canada Day Picnic to encourage residents to plant more native trees on their properties.

Residents can visit the Saanich Parks table to pick up a free western red cedar, western white pine, or a Douglas fir seedling. The seedlings are courtesy of Saanich Parks and the Environmental Programs, Policy and Standards branch of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure through the Cuthbert Holmes Park habitat compensation project.
