Enjoy a tasty treat at the Saanich Strawberry Festival

Saanich, BC – Bring a blanket and enjoy a treat and a day at the beach during the Saanich Strawberry Festival. The annual event takes place Sunday, July 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Beaver Lake Park.

"The Strawberry Festival is one of Saanich's largest and most popular family events," said Mayor Haynes. "We hope residents of all ages will join us for strawberries and ice cream and many other fun activities this Sunday."

The Strawberry Festival began as a celebration of Saanich’s agricultural roots and has grown into a large family event with its 53rd year in 2019.

Strawberries and ice cream tickets cost 50 cents and go on sale at 11 a.m. until supplies last. Members of Saanich Council and staff serve up the traditional sweet treats from 1 to 3 p.m.

Residents can also participate in a variety of family activities throughout the day, including:

  • face-painting;
  • program demonstrations;
  • arts and crafts stations;
  • bouncy castles; and
  • two stages with live music and a variety of cultural dancers.
