Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich is celebrating Tree Appreciation Day with a public tree planting event at Glanford Park. The tree planting event provides opportunities to learn and connect with neighbours while helping to promote and protect urban forests.

  • Date: Saturday, November 3, 2018
  • Time: 10 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Glanford Park, off of Agnes Street near the community gardens
  • What to bring: Gloves, boots and a small shovel or spade

Glanford Park is accessible by bicycle and transit. Light refreshments will be available.

Saanich Parks turns 60 in 2018. To commemorate this anniversary, staff will plant 60 Garry oak trees across the municipality. Some Garry oaks will be planted at Glanford Park as part of Tree Appreciation Day. This is in addition to the 15 Garry oaks that were planted at Bruce Hutchison Park earlier this fall.
