Under the general direction of a Program Technician or Programmer, the Team Leader is responsible for providing shift supervision, directing the delivery of aquatic programs, supporting and mentoring lifeguards and instructors, coordinating program activities, monitoring facility safety, conducting safety inspections, maintaining records and reports, assisting with staff scheduling and training, and responding as the lead during emergency situations. The successful candidate will also provide direct instruction during assigned shifts while ensuring the aquatic facility is safe, well prepared, and operating effectively.
Requirements include completion of Grade 12, current National Lifeguard (Pool) certification, Standard First Aid and CPR-C, and a minimum of two years of lifeguarding experience, including two years of teaching experience. Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification is required, while Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification is considered an asset. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
