Community Services Division, is seeking Program Leader I – Summer Outdoor Camps- SNPP & Youth Camps to support the delivery of outdoor and nature-based camp programs. These positions work within a team environment to provide safe, engaging, and inclusive recreational experiences for children and youth in outdoor settings.
Program Leader I – is responsible for planning, leading, and facilitating a variety of outdoor camp activities. This includes supervising participants, ensuring safety and risk management procedures are followed, supporting positive behaviour, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. The role may also involve assisting with program setup and takedown, communicating with participants and families, and supporting other leaders as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10; a minimum of three months’ experience working with participants in a recreational or instructional setting; Emergency First Aid and CPR-C; and the ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment. Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months. Experience leading outdoor or adventure-based programs and experience working with children with behavioural or cognitive challenges are considered assets. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
