Are you a planning student or new graduate interested in gaining municipal planning experience? Do you have a curiosity to learn about and contribute to a wide range of planning topics and issues? If so, we are looking to fill a Planning Analyst 1 position for an up to 18-week term. This position will work closely with our professional team to perform entry-level policy, housing, and development planning work including public engagement, research, and report writing.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a planning program accredited by the Canadian Institute of Planners
- Three months experience in planning research, data analysis, or public engagement
- Familiarity with planning legislation, policies, and processes
- Experience conducting planning research, including the collection and analysis of qualitative and/or quantitative data
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues and the public
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with GIS and design software considered an asset.
