Description:

Under the general direction of a Program Technician or Programmer, the Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining constant supervision of pool users, enforcing facility rules, preventing accidents, and responding effectively to emergencies. Responsibilities include providing first aid, assisting with facility evacuations and crowd control, maintaining pool deck and change room cleanliness, completing records and reports, educating patrons on the safe use of aquatic facilities, supporting special events and activities, and assisting with the orientation and training of Assistant Lifeguards and Aquatic Fun Leaders.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10, a minimum age of 16 years, current National Lifeguard (Pool) certification, and Standard First Aid with CPR-C, current within the last three years. Candidates must have a minimum of one month of related experience. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts on weekends, afternoons and evenings (hours/shifts are subject to change). Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those under consideration will be contacted.
