The Recreation Division is seeking reliable and service-oriented Facility Attendants to support safe and welcoming recreation facilities at G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre. This position is suited to individuals who enjoy assisting the public, supporting recreation programs and events, and responding calmly to operational and safety concerns.
Under the general direction of a Centre Manager or designated Supervisor, the Facility Attendant monitors facility safety and security, assists front-line staff with challenging situations, and supports emergency response. Duties include reviewing facility bookings and special events, assisting with facility opening and closing, preparing and cleaning up program spaces and equipment, monitoring cleanliness and safety, coordinating responses to potentially dangerous situations, maintaining positive relationships with patrons and user groups, and completing end-of-shift reports.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10 and three months’ experience working in a public service capacity in a recreation facility. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain a positive working environment. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C may be required. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) no older than six months; renewal is required in accordance with policy.
