The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced engineering technologist to join our Engineering Department. The Development Services Section delivers new municipal infrastructure through development construction and acts as the caretakers for existing municipal infrastructure. Working in Development Services, the successful candidate will provide engineering duties to support development and utility installations in the District of Saanich, including the review and approval of site servicing drawings, review and approval of 3rd party utility installations, site visits to confirm municipal requirements have been met, and attendance of bylaw infraction sites as an Engineering Department representative.

Requirements include a two year post-secondary program in Civil and Structural Engineering Technology from a recognized institution; eligibility for registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC; three years of directly related experience in municipal engineering design and construction; fluency with computer based engineering applications and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a civil engineering E.I.T. with 2 years of experience, may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 35 hours per week.
