Description:

The Development Services Section oversees the review, coordination, and implementation of land development activities within municipal rights‑of‑way. Working under the direction of the Section Manager or a Supervisor, the Engineering Technician III performs technical work at a semi‑professional level. This role involves both field and office assignments related to land development review, servicing requirements, and inspection of construction associated with development projects. Responsibilities include reviewing development applications and engineering drawings for compliance with municipal standards, preparing technical documentation, coordinating with applicants and consultants, and providing clear guidance to the public and development community.

Requirements include: a two year post-secondary program in Civil Engineering Technology; three years of directly related experience in civil engineering design including drafting, public works inspection, project documentation, and estimating; eligible to be registered as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC; conversant with computer based engineering applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam Revu, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week). As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted.
