Saanich Commonwealth Place Recreation Centre is seeking certified aquatics Instructors II to deliver our community swimming lesson programs.

Aquatics Instructor II will be responsible for instructing the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life programs and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants during lessons. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering high-quality swim instruction aligned with Lifesaving Society and Saanich standards, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a safe aquatic environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to safety, inclusion, and customer service are essential for this role.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10 and a minimum age of 15 years. Candidates must possess the Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Award and have a minimum of three months of related experience. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) no older than six months. Renewal of PIC-VS is required as per policy. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including daytime, evenings, and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).
