Scope of Work:  The District of Saanich (“District”) is looking for a Contractor to provide Quantitative Fit Tests using the Saanich Port-a-Count Equipment (TSI Model 8048), with a Saanich laptop and printer while following the District’s Safe Work Practice for Fit Testing of Respirators (COVID-19 Considerations) as stated in Appendix 2

The Contractor’s scope of work is to provide the following services:

1.0    Conduct Quantitative Respirator Fit-Tests:

  • Review, and if necessary expand, an existing inventory of staff that require an initial or annual respirator fit test on one or more type of respirators (including N95, half-face, full-face and SCBA).
  • Arrange fit-test schedules with each business unit respecting the time needed for each staff person/respirator and each unit’s unique business needs.
  • Provide approximately 500 – 750 quantitative respirator fit tests using the Saanich Port-a-Count equipment.
  • Ensure the appropriate use and calibration of the Saanich Port-a-Count, laptop and printer.
  • Review Saanich Respirator User Screening Form (attached Appendix 3) completed by employee prior to testing, and document fit test results on the back of the Screening Form. Obtain employee signature on form.
  • Conduct visual inspection of mask prior fit testing. Determine if repair is possible using the District's existing stock of parts; if not provide employee with new respirator. Document repair or new respirator issued. Return any damaged respirators to OHS.
  • From the District’s stock, provide respirators to employee who have not already received one and document new respirator issued.
  • Provide brief respirator training (selection, use, inspection, cleaning, storage and maintenance) to staff and instruction as per the Respirator User Screening Form. Document this training on the form.

 

 2.0    Optional Services: To provide on an as, if and when requested basis, similar types of OHS-related services.

Term:  The term of the contract is for one (1) year from the date of award to April 15, 2022, with the option to extend for four (4) additional one (1) year terms upon mutual agreement.
