Saanich, BC – The District of Saanich is excited to announce a major update in our ongoing commitment to modernize and streamline services to the community.

Following the release of online residential building permit applications in May 2025, the District is now launching online commercial building permit applications with five new digital applications:

• New Structure
• Addition
• Renovation
• Demolition
• Other (fire alarm system, retaining wall)

The shift towards fully digital submissions eliminates paper-based applications, making processes more convenient, reliable and efficient. The District is committed to simplifying the permitting process for residents and developers by removing application barriers and creating a seamless online application and payment experience.

Applicants are encouraged to review project requirements specific to their application type and create a MySaanich account to move forward with your new project.
