Roy Road temporary closure timeline update
December 2, 2025
Information bulletin
For immediate release
Saanich, BC - The District of Saanich is providing an update on the storm drain and sanitary sewer project on Roy Road between Wilkinson Road and Carey Road. The work and subsequent road closures began on September 24, 2025.
Crews are actively breaking rock at the crossing location (near 1160 Roy Road), and the trench will need to remain open overnight. As a result, the project will require a full road closure with no through traffic while the crossing is being installed. This is anticipated to be in effect through December 15, 2025.

Following completion of the crossing, the previous road closure configuration (see below) will resume and remain in place until January 19, 2026.
Road closure details following the completion of the crossing:
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Full closure of Roy Road between Carey Road to Wilkinson Road.
- 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. - Open to westbound traffic from Carey Road to Wilkinson Road.
The District recognizes the inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience during this vital infrastructure improvement project.
