Saanich, BC – “What’s a Centre, Corridor and Village Plan anyway?”
It’s a great question that comes up a lot — and that’s why the District is launching a new video to more fully explain this important concept.
“As we continue to work through our Centre, Corridor and Village planning processes — currently with the Quadra McKenzie and Tillicum Burnside Plans, and Shelbourne Valley Action Plan Update — we’re always thinking about ways to better connect and collaborate with residents to shape these long-term visions for the future,” says Cameron Scott, Manager of Community Planning. “This new video helps explain what the District is trying to achieve, accompanied by visuals that provide residents with a better sense of what their future neighbourhoods could look like.”
Centre, Corridor and Village (CCV) Plans are being created for particular areas of Saanich to respond to future growth and ensure we have complete communities that support housing, employment, shops, services, recreation and public spaces — all within walking distance. These plans provide the finer details around land use changes and transportation improvements that fit within the framework of Saanich’s Official Community Plan.
Watch the video – and come have your say!
