Discuss key issues with Saanich Council at upcoming town hall meeting

Saanich, BC – Residents are invited to join Saanich Mayor and Council for an engaging evening of discussion at a Council Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, September 9 at the Saanich Municipal Hall (770 Vernon Avenue).

This is the third Council Town Hall hosted by the District. The inaugural meeting happened at the Cedar Hill Golf Course on October 22, 2024.

This initiative is in accordance with the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, which Council committed to hosting town hall meetings.

Meeting Format:

  • 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Open mic session with no set agenda. Residents are invited to speak on topics of importance, with a limit of three minutes per speaker, in accordance with the Council Procedure Bylaw. Webcasting and Microsoft Teams participation will not be available for this meeting.
  • 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Informal opportunity for one-on-one conversations between residents and Council members.

Registration is not required to attend. However, if you wish to speak during the open mic portion, advance registration is encouraged. Pre-registration will be capped at 20 speakers. To ensure a range of perspectives, individuals who have not spoken at previous Town Halls will be given the opportunity to speak first.

To pre-register to speak, please email council@saanich.ca or call 250-475-5501. If time permits, individuals who did not pre-register may also be invited to speak during the meeting.
