Phase 1 of Shelbourne Street Improvements Project almost complete

April 8, 2022

Residents will soon see a completed phase one of Saanich’s Shelbourne Street Improvements Project.

A few remaining tasks will be completed over the coming weeks such as line painting, landscaping and installing street furniture (waste receptacles and benches). The final paving took place late last week following several weather-related delays.

Phase one upgrades include the addition of buffered bike lanes north of McKenzie Avenue to Torquay Drive, as well as underground infrastructure, utility services, traffic signals, sidewalks, lighting and bus stops.

Watch for an announcement later this spring about the completion of phase one and the construction kick off for phase two.
