Experience Voices in Nature at Outerbridge Park

Saanich, BC – The District ofSaanich’ s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and Pacific Opera Victoria invite you to explore the beauty of nature and the arts together from 5 to 7 p.m. August 24 to 26 at Outerbridge Park on Royal Oak Drive.

Join Pacific Opera Victoria staff and guest artists on a peaceful evening stroll through Outerbridge Park. As you walk the trails, experience a variety of artistic disciplines in small, intimate performances that reflect the beautiful natural environment.

Visitors will enjoy vocal, instrumental and poetry performances, along with a visual artist at work. Some of the artists include Brianna Bear (artist), Louis Dillon (bass-baritone), Kieran Foss (tenor) and Michelle Poirier Brown (poet) with more to be confirmed.

Admission is free and all are welcome. Plan to spend approximately one hour to enjoy the park and performances.

Limited parking is available on site at both the Royal Oak and Blenkinsop entrances. The park is located close to trails and active transportation routes. While registration is not required, for planning and communication purposes, people are invited to register on the Voices in Nature event page or on the Facebook event page.

“Pacific Opera is grateful to partner with Saanich Parks, Recreation and Community Services through our shared vision as organizations to connect the diverse people that make up our communities to nature and art,” says Director of Community Engagement Rebecca Hass. “Through time shared with one another on the land, we are inspired and filled by the beauty inherent in both.”

“We are delighted to collaborate with Pacific Opera Victoria and welcome both invited artists and the community to Outerbridge Park – a hidden gem in Saanich Parks,” adds Community Arts Programmer Brenda Weatherston. “Voices in Nature provides a unique opportunity to appreciate the sights and sounds of the natural world, music and the arts, and reconnect with our community.”
