Saanich hosts region’s Culture Days weekend celebrations

Saanich BC –Residents are invited to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes with arts and culture in the community during Culture Days. Saanich has teamed up with community arts and cultural groups to offer free activities for all ages.

Culture Days is Canada’s largest celebration of community arts and culture. Saanich is proud to serve as a regional hub for Culture Days 2019. Saanich will host an exhibition and hands-on community art project with Island Illustrators Society along with a number of free performances, hands-on and participatory activities throughout the Culture Days weekend.

“Culture Days is a celebration of arts and culture in communities across Canada,” said Councillor and Chair of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee Colin Plant. “This year’s national theme of ‘Arts, Creativity and Well-being’ aligns with Saanich's inclusive cultural identity and its recognition of the vital role that cultural participation plays in the quality of life of our citizens."
