Donna Dubock

About the Artwork / Artist:

A series of paintings inspired by the West Coast, particularly the Gulf Islands. This work focuses on wildflowers growing along the shoreline, set against a backdrop of the sea and surrounding islands.

Born in Dorset, U.K., Donna developed an early interest in art and studied at the Art Institute in Bournemouth. She later spent 20 years working in health and social care before relocating to British Columbia in 2014, where she returned to her artistic practice full-time.

She currently works from her waterfront studio, “The Villa,” in Village Bay on Mayne Island, where the coastal environment continues to shape her painting practice.

Michael Winters

About the Artwork / Artist:
A celebration of everyday life amid the process of overcoming trauma.

Michael spent his career on the periphery of the arts as a reporter and editor for newspapers and magazines in his native San Francisco. Later in life, he rediscovered his passion for drawing and painting through the encouragement of a supportive teacher. He now finds unexpected joy in his own practice, as well as in the wider artistic community in the Greater Saanich area.
