Patti West

About the Artwork / Artist:

Patti resides in Victoria, BC near the forests, ocean, river and lakes that she loves and that inspire her creations.  She paints in acrylics using vivid colors and high contrast and textures to accentuate her subject.

I have loved creating all my life and have been inspired by the beauty of the natural world and by the wonder of relationships and the rich emotions that we all experience in life. As I keenly observe the intensity of beauty in creation and the passion and the fullness of life all around me, I endeavor to express these vivid images and emotive experiences in my acrylic paintings. I desire to entice the viewer into reflection on these evocative images that give a glimpse into the supernatural realm existing all around us. Visual images are powerful. My work is created to represent transcendent realities, to entice the viewer into deeper experiences impacting their spirit and emotions.

Michelle Martindale

About the Artwork / Artist:

This collection showcases the vibrant life living in the ocean and mountains around Vancouver Island. Many of these paintings are from my experiences exploring and adventuring, and I hope to convey the awe and joy felt while witnessing the incredible life around the island. Layering the various blues and complex shadow hues, I hope to bring to life and capture the fleeting moments that shape the beauty of this landscape.

Michelle Martindale is a local emerging artist. Having created art throughout her life, she is now turning to making bigger and more complex art as she develops her style. Her current medium of choice is acrylics while also exploring oils and clay. She finds inspiration in the beautiful landscapes around the island which she is fortunate to call home.

Sandy Voldeng

About the Artwork / Artist:

All my sculptures are figurative and hand-built from clay. I love the human form with all its imperfections. The only common theme is each piece is borne out of a feeling that is important to me. I hope my representations will trigger similar emotions in the hearts of viewers and thus give them life.

Sandy Voldeng has been sculpting for over 20 years. She is a long-standing exhibitor at the Greater Victoria Art Gallery. Her work has also been exhibited at juried events at Victoria Arts Council’s Gallery, TCAC Sculptor’s Splash, and the Sooke Fine Arts Show. She is a member of the Vancouver Island Sculptors Guild, Arc-Hive Artist Run Centre, and the Gage Gallery.
