Celebrating the Artist in Every Child
November 5 to 30, 2025

About the Artwork / Artists:

artsREACH is celebrating 20 years of inspiring creativity in young minds! To mark this milestone, we are proud to showcase a vibrant selection of artwork created by children from various schools across the District of Saanich.

artsREACH is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality visual and performing arts education to vulnerable young children. Since 2005, we have delivered free arts workshops to thousands of elementary students in underserved communities. Led by professional artists, these 60–90-minute sessions take place in public elementary schools identified as having a higher percentage of vulnerable families.

We believe all children are naturally creative. Our mission is to ensure every child has the opportunity to discover and develop life skills through meaningful experiences in the arts.

Hallway Case 2 – Kelsey Moore

3D Rock Paintings
November 5 to 30, 2025

About the Artwork / Artist:

I’m a painter, crafter, and occasional crocheter born and raised in Victoria BC as a visitor on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen people. Art has and always will have an enormous presence in my life.

Art is refuge after a long day. It is common ground to spark new relationships. It is a language to share amongst peers. It is life, and emotion, and most of all, it is personal.

Mixed Media Art
November 5 to 30, 2025

About the Artwork / Artist:

I’m a mixed media artist based on beautiful Vancouver Island, where inspiration flows as abundantly as the ocean waves and towering forests. My creative journey is driven by experimentation—I continually push the boundaries of my practice to uncover new textures, forms, and unexpected outcomes that bring each piece to life.

At the heart of my practice are acrylic paintings and linocuts. My process is deeply tactile, incorporating a diverse array of tools and materials—brushes, scrapers, palette knives, rollers, sponges, sandpaper, paper, fabric, and found objects—alongside techniques such as scratching and scraping. Each element contributes its own texture and expression, transforming my canvases into a vibrant playground of creativity.

Rear Window Case – Melanie Thompson

October 8 to November 30, 2025

About the Artwork / Artist:

I want viewers to see the beauty of nature in many forms.  I am a multidisciplinary visual artist. My work is materials driven and that inspires my making. My approach is experimental. I work with natural and found materials. I manipulate the material to see what it is capable of. Everything is grist for the mill. I often obtain materials with no creation in mind, the process of working with the material in an exploratory way informs my decisions of what to make, what techniques to use, what form they will take. Materials also direct the concept behind the work which leads to large installations and collaborations with other artists.
