About the Artwork:
My art form is about second chances, salvaging old artwork that has been discarded and is no longer wanted for whatever reason and reimagining new possibilities on the canvas in a whimsical way. Nature’s bounty of birds and flowers are my primary inspiration. Every walk I take I see birds
of different species sharing
what nature has to offer.
They seem to have learned
how to get along just fine
and provide the essence for
my whimsy. We need to see images of hope, to know that despite what is happening all around us we can achieve an inner peace and calm. I want to make a difference to change someone’s day, to make someone smile, and to uplift their spirits.
About the Artist:
As a retired senior, I am blessed to have the time to create. My latest venture of collage is salvaging unwanted, damaged and unloved canvas prints and original artwork from thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales and bringing them back to life in a whimsical and uplifting way. I am inspired by nature’s bounty. All resources used in the collage come from recycled print materials, assorted costume jewelry and fabric ends. The process of collecting, sorting, cutting and embellishing involves days and weeks. My hope is that these collages will make someone smile, inspire a conversation with a stranger and live on in some other way and at some other time.
