Description:

The Storm and Wastewater Division is seeking Utility Operators to assist in the maintenance, installation and repair of various Wastewater collection components. The successful candidates work in and around creeks/waterways and understand environmental protocols and best management practices and will also assist in operating sewer and drain equipment and machinery, bank stabilization, gabion installation, spill response and Lift station construction.

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; EOCP OIT (Operator in Training) Certification for Wastewater collection is an asset; one year of pipefitting experience in wastewater main Installation or repair; Traffic Control Certificate; Occupational First Aid Level I Certification; Valid Class 3 BC Driver's Licence with air brake endorsement as required; annual renewal of Driver’s Abstract; Spill Response Training as required and an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered 

Additionally, qualified candidates will have versatility, manual dexterity and sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to work in all weather conditions. The successful candidates will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
