As a Team Leader – Aquatics, you will provide leadership and direction to lifeguards and aquatic instructors during assigned shifts, ensuring programs are delivered safely and effectively. You will support staff by monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols, assisting with training and scheduling, and responding to customer inquiries. The role also includes teaching and/or lifeguarding duties, overseeing facility readiness, completing reports and records, and taking a leadership role during emergency situations to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
Requirements include completion of Grade 12; a minimum of two years of lifeguarding experience, including two years of swim instruction; National Lifeguard (Pool) certification; Standard First Aid and CPR-C; and Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification. Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification is considered an asset. Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including daytime, after school, evenings, and weekends; hours and schedules are subject to change based on program needs.
