The Engineering Department is seeking a Tandem Operator to join the Public Works team. The successful candidate will perform work that includes the safe operation and regular maintenance of tandem axle dump trucks and occasionally single axle dump trucks. 

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; one year experience and on-the-job training in a public works environment; Spill Responder training; Forklift Operator’s Certification; Front End Loader/Backhoe Operator’s Certification; Snow and Ice Control Certification; possession of a valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement and annual renewal of Driver’s Abstract. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (40 hours per week). As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. Only those under consideration will be contacted.
