Description:

Dryland/Gordon Head Recreation Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Programmer I to support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate programs for children and youth (ages 6–15). The successful candidate will bring a strong background in centre-based programming and be available to work a variety of shifts. 

Hours of Work: Flexible, 25 hours per week; some weekend and evening work may be required.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Recreation Division’s goal of providing inclusive, high-quality programming that supports community engagement, personal development, and active lifestyles for youth.

Mandatory qualifications include a two-year post-secondary diploma in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field, along with two years of experience in program planning and staff supervision. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) no older than six months. Renewal of PIC-VS is required as per policy.
