Description:

As a Programmer I, you will be responsible for overseeing all fitness services programming at G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre, including the weight room, drop-in classes, and registered group fitness and wellness sessions. Your specific duties will encompass program planning, implementation, marketing, and supervision of the program leadership staff.

Requirements include a two-year post-secondary diploma in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field; two years of experience in program planning and staff supervision in a fitness setting. A program-specific certification is required: BCRPA, strength training personal and group fitness, or CSEP (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology) or equivalent. The successful candidate must provide a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector and possess a valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s licence.

The successful candidate will work varied evenings and weekends as needed, with a minimum of 35 hours per week (hours/shifts are subject to change).
